Baby Website Tip #5: Important milestones

Some of the most amazing moments are ahead of you. It is amazing how fast your baby learns new things. In no time at all that helpless beautiful newborn will be running all over the house singing and saying their favorite words.

It is so important to write journal entries each time you see or hear a first for your child. It's so hard to believe you won't remember where or when your baby took his first step. Ok so you probably won't forget that one; but what about the first time your baby giggled. Will you remember it as if it just happened five or ten years from now? Chances are you will remember vaguely where and when but imagine being able to go to your baby website and being able to read through your journal and re-live all those amazing moments word for word the way it happened. That is a gift you can give yourself that will bring a smile to your face each time you read it.

So each time something amazing happens make sure you add it to your journal. You will thank me ten years from now. Best of all you don't have to worry about a baby book that could be lost or damaged. Websites can last forever, but if you really like having it in hand simply purchase a copy of the site on CD every once in a while and keep it in a cd cover in your childs baby book.

Baby Website Tip #4: Baby Announcements

Now that you have settled in and you are finally into a routine at home it's time to start thinking about letting all your friends and family know about your newborn with official birth announcements!

There are many ways to do this:

1.) Phone List - Some people decide not to send anything out at all and simply call everyone. This can be a time consuming process and with a newborn that is a valuable commodity!

2.) Birth Announcements - Another option is to order cards with your baby's name, birthday, birth weight and length, etc. This is a nice way to let everyone know because it provides everyone with a keepsake for the event. You can usually find a variety of styles and costs. Some basic announcements are inexpensive and others with more intricate details like ribbons, etc. can cost a bit more. Here is a list of websites where you can create and order announcements:

3.) Email Announcements - Probably my favorite. I like this method because it is cheap and quick. It also allows everyone to forward the message on to all their friends! There are many places that offer this service. Some good ones are:

4.) Include Your Baby Website Link - Remember to include a link to your baby website on the announcement. That will help keep everyone updated as your baby grows! This is a great way to get the information out to everyone that they can view photos, journal entries, etc. any time they want!

Baby Website Tip #3

Baby Website Tip #3: Photo tips

As a parent you know how easy it is to take hundreds of photos of your child. Every few moments they seem to make a cute new face, or do something you just have to capture forever!

Next time you reach for that camera keep these tips in mind:

1.) Make sure your camera is set to at least medium quality. Even though you will be posting most of your photos on the website you still will want to print a few of them to hang on your wall or take to the office. If you take photos at a low quality setting it will limit the size of the prints you will be able to make.

2.) Take the lens cap off! It sounds like a no brainer but in the rush to capture one of those cute looks its easy to forget this step. Just remember to check it everytime and you wont be disappointed!

3.) Remember your partner! Of course you want to capture your little one, but remember to capture some of those cherished moments as a family! It is easy to forget that you are part of the memories too! Take plenty of pictures of your partner holding the baby, smiling at them, or reading them a book. Make sure they take plenty of you too!

There are plenty of great photography websites to check out for more advanced tips but these are some good basics to remember. You may want to check out your local city to see if they offer basic photography classes. Some cities have low fee classes available and this is a great way to learn some tips and tricks.

Also, don't forget to upload those photos to your BabyPail.com website to share all those memories with your family and friends!

Baby Website Tip #2: Keep adding those updates!

So now that you have your free baby web site from BabyPail.com all your friends and family are waiting eagerly for the next set of recent photos! Life is pretty hectic with a new one in the house and although you snap a photo of your little one every minute you hardly have time to print them, mail them, or even email them to all your relatives and friends.

That why a site like BabyPail.com is so nice. All those people requesting the latest update or photo are taken care of automatically. All you do is upload the images to your site or add a journal entry and BabyPail.com will email everyone in your guestbook to let them know there are new photos or journal entries.

Family and friends love it because you keep them in the loop and at the same time you are documenting one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have!

So make sure you make time to add photos and journal entries on a regular basis. Your friends and family will thank you!

Baby Website Tip #1

Baby Website Tip #1: Start Early!

It is best to start your baby's website early. Don't worry if you don't know what sex your baby will be yet, or even what name you are going to give them.

Get a site set up early and start telling your family and friends about it. This is a great time to start making journal entries. These are memories you won't want to forget.

Make note of the way you found out you were pregnant, or the first time you heard the heart beat. There are so many memories being made even before your baby arrives, make sure you get those on the website. Plus your friends and family can share in the anticipation!

Introducing your baby to the world!

How BabyPail.com was born...

My son just turned seven months old the other day. I never could have imagined how amazing the experience of being a father could be. If I had I would have started so much earlier!

I spent the first three months thinking to myself, "Dad. Dad. Daddy. That doesn't sound THAT bad." I was trying to imagine what it might be like to have another person referring to me as "Dad" How scary is that!

When my son was born and I saw his little face for the first time it was the most amazing feeling in the world. When I first saw his face I was taken back. This is my son. This is what he looks like! All those months of waiting and in one moment we shared something we will never share again... the first time we met each other. Wow what an emotional experience.

Just like any proud parent I wanted to share him with everyone! Walking down the hall leaving the hospital I wanted to stop everyone we passed, "Excuse me, Have you met my son?"

After the initial visits and sharing of pictures through email I started to get overwhelmed with requests to see more pictures and the phone calls asking about him. We had so many friends and family members that wanted to share everything with us. They wanted to watch him grow up just as much as we did!

So my wife and I decided to build a website with photos, journal entries, and a guestbook for all our friends to visit whenever they wanted to know what he was up to! After we built our sons site we thought, you know this should be something every parent can do. There were lots of sites out there that offered similar solutions but they all cost money! You shouldn't have to pay to share this wonderful new person! So we built a free service for parents that lets them share their child for free!

You can check it out at http://www.babypail.com

Let me know what you think. We will be working on it to add more themes and make the site easier to use. If you have any suggestions let me know and maybe we can add them!
